The Current Situation
Around the time of the First World War the Turks known then as the Ottomans persecuted about 1.5 million Armenians. In which they tortured the Armenians and many others things were done to this people. This event is very similar to the Holocaust in Germany with Hitler and the Jews. But there is one major difference and that is that the Germans Recognize that they did something that was very wrong and they are ashamed of what they did. Still today the Turkish people will not admit to doing the wrong thing in the year of 1915. The Turkish people will not say that they were the cause of the Armenian Genocide and that they are responsible for the death of many innocent people in 1915. On the April 24th of every year the Armenians around the world gather to commemorate the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
